Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The article has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- The article is in Microsoft Word.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- The article has a title, abstract and keywords in Spanish and English.
- Letter of assignment of rights signed by all authors
Letters to the editor
La carta al editor constituye un breve comentario en acuerdo o desacuerdo con aspectos contenidos en los trabajos publicados y que pueden estar relacionados con: conceptos, metodologías, interpretaciones, resultados, etc., sobre artículos publicados en la Revista de Investigaciones de la Universidad del Quindío.
Las cartas permiten intercambiar ideas y opiniones entre autores y lectores de la revista, siendo esta actividad tan interesante como el artículo original desencadenante del intercambio de correspondencia.
Además, deben ser dinámicas y ofrecer a la revista valor añadido al permitir a la comunidad científica publicar:
- Un breve resultado de una investigación.
- Presentar resultados propios de un artículo original, aún no publicados o un artículo original que promuevan reanálisis de datos ya disponibles y su explicación posterior en formato de carta.
- Desarrollar opiniones, ideas e hipótesis que se muestren a la comunidad científica y profesionales de la Ingeniería.
Normas de redacción de las cartas
El título debe ser informativo y se permiten concesiones no aceptadas en otros artículos originales. Pueden ser llamativos, en forma interrogativa, exclamativa o mediante el uso de juego de palabras.
Debe comenzar con una referencia explícita y clara en relación con el hecho que la motiva, sea el artículo aparecido en la revista u otra causa; y a partir de ahí un esquema expositivo y en forma progresiva.
Los párrafos siguientes deben ser la argumentación a favor o en contra; o comentarios adicionales respecto al motivo de la carta. Si se van a presentar datos originales, se debe explicar de manera muy resumida las características principales de la metodología (más resumida que el artículo original). En los siguientes párrafos deben aparecer, la discusión que se hace de los razonamientos o datos aportados y finalizar con un último párrafo a modo de conclusiones.
La extensión de la carta será de unas 700 palabras como máximo. Se aceptan además hasta 10 referencias bibliográficas.
Working paper
publicación de resúmenes de congreso y también artículo de trabajo (working paper), necesarios para el debate académico y científico sobre un tema en desarrollo.
Esta modalidad de trabajo tendrá la siguiente información Página principal con:
- Título
- Autores y afiliación, así como semestre y carrera que cursa.
- También deben estar los datos del tutor del proyecto.
- Correspondencia
- Segunda página un pequeño resumen de máximo 250 palabras con la información esencial del trabajo.
- De 3 a 10 palabras clave
- Cuerpo máximo 4 páginas
- Introducción (una página) en la cual los autores exponen el contexto y antecedentes de la investigación, así como el problema de investigación y en el último párrafo el propósito del estudio
Métodos: (una página) en la se presentan los materiales y métodos utilizados, incluyendo selección de sujetos; tipo de estudio; descripción de las metodologías de observación, recogida y procesamiento de datos y otras actividades; análisis estadístico y otros)
Resultados y discusión: (una página), donde se van a exponer el hallazgo principal (cuando más dos tablas o dos figuras) fundamentales que resuman el resultado fundamental de estudio, en este apartado no se hace discusión
Aspectos de la discusión y conclusiones: (una página) se discuten a criterios de los autores o utilizando trabajos similares de la literatura, el resultado fundamental del trabajo, se terminan con una conclusión que guarda relación con el objetivo.
Referencias: Únicamente aquellas citas que se consideren importantes y hayan sido leídas por los autores. Todas las referencias deben estar citadas en el texto de forma consecutiva, según el orden de aparición. Todas las referencias deben contener su respectivo DOI.
No más de 10 citas bibliográficas bien acotada según la norma
Original Article
Informe que da a conocer los resultados de una investigación o estudio realizado en diferentes ámbitos de las áreas de conocimiento en Ciencias Naturales y Exactas, Agrícolas, Ingeniería y Tecnología, Ciencias de la Salud, Ciencias de la Educación, Ciencias Sociales y Humanas. El texto debe tener, como máximo, 6000 palabras y 50 referencias. Todos los artículos publicados en esta sección de la revista se someten a arbitraje a doble ciegas.
En esta sección se publicarán trabajos relevantes, con resultados originales de investigación, no publicados ni enviados a otra revista, que se derivan de proyectos de investigaciones y que aportan nuevos conocimientos o la aplicación de conocimientos existentes a las empresas o en la sociedad. Su finalidad es comunicar los resultados de investigaciones, ideas y debates de una manera clara, concisa y fidedigna.
Los manuscritos tendrán la siguiente estructura: título (en español e inglés); resumen con palabras clave (en español e inglés); cuerpo del artículo (introducción, material y métodos, resultados, discusión y conclusiones); agradecimientos (si es necesario) y referencias (utilizando las normas APA).
Review articles
Objetivo: publicar trabajos de temas actualizados y de gran interés para la comunidad científica, a partir de revisiones sistemáticas y rigurosas de la literatura.
Estos artículos deben tener aportes de los autores y análisis crítico de la literatura.
Característica de la sección
Teniendo en cuenta que es una publicación electrónica no se restringirá la extensión máxima de los trabajos, pero los autores deben ajustarse a un máximo de 20 pantallas. Opcionalmente el trabajo podrá incluir tablas y figuras (que seguirán las mismas normas que para los artículos originales).
Los artículos de revisión deben hacerse sobre la bibliografía más actualizada del tema en cuestión (Más del 50 % de la bibliográfica consultada de los últimos 5 años y más del 25 de los últimos 3 años). Constarán de un pequeño resumen continuo; introducción breve, que incluye el objetivo de la revisión; el desarrollo, parte fundamental de la revisión y las conclusiones, las que deben sintetizar la esencia de la revisión y escribirse en un párrafo. Los autores harán la presentación del tema revisado de manera crítica, expresando los criterios propios de su experiencia práctica. Nunca debe ser una simple transcripción de la bibliografía
Brief Communication Article
Este tipo de artículo tienen como objetivo comunicar aspectos concretos relacionados con los avances de la ciencia, la tecnología, la innovación y el emprendimiento. El artículo de comunicación breve tiene la siguiente estructura: resumen no estructurado, en español e inglés con las palabras clave; introducción, en la cual el autor expone los generales sobre el tema y el objetivo de la comunicación; el desarrollo que puede tener varios acápites y las referencias bibliográficas.
